Summer 2022

I had this expectation that we would have this glorious, Pinterest worthy summer road trip when I told my family I booked us a two week camping trip to Rocky Mountain national park this summer, but that’s not exactly how things turned out. It started out like all road trips do - with lot’s of arguing. I fully expected it and the arguing stage usually lasts a couple of days before we hit a stride and start to have fun but no Copeland family road trip has ever been without any hiccups. The first day we drove about 7 hours to Clayton, NM to stay at a road side rv park just for the night but with full hook-ups it was fairly painless. Day 2 we drove into Estes Park, CO and found our way to Elk Meadow Lodge and RV Park. We had the most amazing view out the rv window and the park was right next to the entrance of Rocky Mountain Natl. Park.

Over the next two weeks I stopped worrying about Pinterest worthy pictures and perfection and just enjoyed the time with my family. We toured the park, watched the sun come up over Bear lake, hiked, went off roading in a jeep, went white-water rafting, shopped, ate and laughed. It was important to me to have the time together since my son was about to start his senior year and you just never know where life will take you after high school.

Here are a few of my favorite pics from the trip! Next summer - Yellowstone.
